VMware Horizon View requires KMS for Windows licensing. To work around this so MAK licensing can be used for lab environments the registry can be editing to skip license activation as a requirement of composing a desktop.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\vmware-viewcomposer-ga # SkipLicenseActivation = 0 SkipLicenseActivation = 1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\vmware-viewcomposer-ga # SkipLicenseActivation = 0 SkipLicenseActivation = 1
